About Beyond Running
We’ve set out to be an all inclusive running store where you WILL NOT feel
intimidated when you walk through our door. We are here to educate, inspire and
motivate every person that has a desire to live a better life today.
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome; an all
inclusive running community. We want to create a place where you can meet other
people interested in running, walking, or just getting off the couch. Our motto
is "focused on the everyday athlete", but that probably really doesn't cover
it. We're here to offer information, equipment & encouragement to anyone
whether you've been running for years or if you want to start walking. We
strive to offer you the best products and the best selection that we can as
well as the knowledge to get you in the right shoes, clothing, and accessories.
If you haven’t visited us, come on down. We think you‘ll like what you see.
The story starts with 3 guys and one vision...ok, that sounds really hokey (Joe
wrote it). The names of these 3 fools area Jason Overland,
Brian Kinsey, and Joe Larson.
Joe Larson Joe's background is in soccer. He had the opportunity to play
professional soccer for 4 years as well as coach at the Division I level.
When you see him you'll understand that he was not built for speed or distance,
although he was a pretty quick guy on the soccer field (Joe wrote this too).
He is married and has three year old triplets. Yeah that's right,
triplets.
Brian Kinsey Brian enjoys long walks, Springtime, and John Denver. His favorite
movie is anything with Keanu Reaves in it. He's looking for a companion
that enjoys baldness, frozen burrito's, and running. His turn-offs are
smoking, cheese, and mean people. Brian worked in the fashion industry, at
Scheels, for about 11 years doing everything from receiving freight to buying in
the corporate office. I think his picture to the right says it all...
Jason Overland Jason spent about 9 years with Scheels starting out in the West Acres
store and ending up in the corporate office as a buyer. He left Scheels to
work at Microsoft and was there until just recently when he left to spend his
time downtown at the running store full time. He got into running only a
few years ago when Brian convinced him to travel to Rapid City for the Black
Hills Marathon under the guise of "we'll drink beer in Deadwood". After
struggling through the half marathon in Rapid City he was hooked.
Lyndsie Lyndsie is doing an internship with us as well as working part time in
the store. We're extremely fortunate to have her. Her resume and
accomplishments are already so vast I can't list them here. She's the
smart and talented one out of the group so we hope she stay's around for a long
time.
